Filmmaker Darren Aronofsky recently revealed Warner Bros’Jokerorigin cinema sounds very similar to his early pitch of a Batman movie . Last month , news wear that Warner Bros. is developing aJoker standalone moviethat would be separate from the already existing DC Extended Universe . The report quickly garnered interest from sports fan not just because it would be the supervillain ’s first standalone motion picture , but because acclaimed filmmakers are attached to the projection . The HangoverandWar Dogsdirector Todd Phillips will helm , while Martin Scorsese may potentially produce the film . It ’s not clear how the studio apartment will advertise the movie freestanding from their existing banner , or how it will regard the DCEU moving forward , but latest intel on the Joker project suggests it will bevery dark and farinaceous .
Aronofsky is currently at the middle of care with his late projectmother ! , starring Jennifer Lawrence and Javier Bardem gettingcritical praiseahead of its encompassing freeing this Friday . But while all eyes are on his current fizgig , it did not escape the manager ’s aid that some of his earliest concepts for a Caped Crusader standalone could perhaps be used , ironically , for his arch nemesis ' proposed film .

We ’re not building Gotham . The Batmobile – I wanted to be a Lincoln Continental with two bus engines in it . "
Despite his other Batman concept not coming to fruition , Aronofsky added that some bit and pieces from his grim version eventually made it to the big screen via other projection , particularly Zack Snyder’sBatman V Superman : Dawn of jurist :
" Some of my approximation got out there through other films . Like the anchor ring with " BW " , Bruce Wayne ’s ring make the cicatrice was our idea and I call back that was in Zack ’s or something . Which is fine , you compose these ideas and they get out . We were all about reinvent it and trying to make it more Taxi Driver visceral . That was the whole auction pitch . But the toy citizenry were like , " Oh it ca n’t be a Lincoln Continental , you have to make a Batmobile . "
