Ifearly impressionsring true , the 2d season looks like it ’s cranking thedemon - crushing madnessup to eleven . As Campbell himself noted , the shorter format tighten up the repugnance and comedic elements . Bite - sized burst of Deadite madness also allow fans a chance to keep an eye on Ash “ coming out of his shell , ” as Campbell put it , and get a better taste for the characters .
At the same time , hearing the detailed possible plots for anArmy of Darknessfollow up does make one pensive for the big concealment shockers of Raimi ’s past tense , as well asAsh ’s all-embracing - screen egotism .
