Waititi lately plain off filmingthe WW2 satire , say he ’s " excited to ridicule " Nazis while promising the film will " pee off a draw of racists . " The movie ’s castalso includes Rebel Wilson , who recently hopped aboard , together withOscar - winner Sam Rockwell .
In the film , Waititi ’s Hitler is actually the notional friendof a young boy appoint Jojo Betzler ( Roman Griffin Davis ) . When Jojo link the Hitler Youth , his mind is filled with propaganda that paint Judaic people as inhuman teras . Though Waititi certainly looks the part in the new still , the director assures everyone this is not a historically accurate Hitler , but rather a version of the Nazi dictator as a 10 - year - old son might think him . In an interview , Waititi described this Hitler as " goofy and wizard . " The director also said his Hitler is really " a lonely male child ’s full version of his hero sandwich , which is really his pop . "
Comedic versions of Hitler do n’t number along that often , but over the years there have been a few .
