George Lucas has opened up ( very somewhat ) about his plan for aStar Warssequel trilogy , and it contain creature that feed on The Force . When Disney develop Lucasfilm , George Lucas stepped away altogether from the franchise . TheStar Warscreator will occasionally chime in about bits of Jedi traditional knowledge , but otherwise he ’s completely pass on off when it comes to the sequel trilogy andStar state of war ' new twist - offs .
Yet there once was a design for Lucas to produce his own sequel trilogy . Lucas ' original goal was to finish theStar Warsprequels , and then go on the story with a sequel trilogy , but that never came to overstep . Few masses make love what Lucas ' subsequence trilogy looked like , other than Mark Hamill , but details from the writer / director have recently been discovered . It all sound rightfully ( and possibly delightfully ) insane .

OnTwitter , comical book of account artist Livio Ramondelli found a pair of quotation mark from George Lucas babble out about his future Star Wars programme in the companion al-Qur’an for AMC’sJames Cameron ’s Story of Science FictionTV show . Lucas describes his vision thusly :
[ My subsequence trilogy ] were going to get into the microbiotic world . But there ’s this worldly concern of animal that go differently than we do . I call them the Whills . And the Whills are the one who really control the cosmos . They bung off the Force .
It ’s a rather small-scale description of what would ’ve , obviously , been a rather Brobdingnagian tarradiddle . Yet from the sounds of it , it seems rather than ignoring the controversial midichlorians , which the current sequel trilogy has , Lucas was going to duplicate down on them hard . DuringThe Phantom Menace , Qui - Jon Ginn explains to Anakin Skywalker that every Force substance abuser has midichlorians inside of them . The amount of midichlorians learn their connection and power to use the Force . The explanation was rightfully hated as it took off some of the mysticism ofStar Wars , and it just sound very , very silly . Yet it appear that Lucas had many more architectural plan to explore the scientific side ofStar Wars .
Interestingly , the Whills have n’t been wholly exorcise fromStar Warscanon . The Journal of the Whills was mentionedin the novelisation ofThe Force Awakens , andRogue One ’s Chirrut Îmwe ( played by Donnie Yen ) was a Guardian of the Whills . There ’s little concrete known about the Whills . However , they do seem to be more like a faith or buff to the Force . The Whills are a people or an ideal that people keep an eye on . They ’re not , what Lucas seems to be describe , which are omnipresent , perchance almighty , microscopic creatures who address the Force as their lifeblood .
Star Warshas always been a franchise that has leaned more toward phantasy than scientific discipline fiction , despite its quad setting . Star Warsis pulpy and fun . Everything does n’t require an result . The Force does n’t need to be explained , it ’s just the Force . Lucas ' plans for the Whills could ’ve been interesting , or they could ’ve made everyone long for the days ofThe Phantom Menaceand its never - terminate give-and-take of trade negotiations . However , as crazy as Lucas ' plans for his continuation trilogy sound , it is mistily cheerless that the mankind who createdStar Warswill never get to finishStar Wars . Lucas’Star Warswould’ve been unlike anything in the current trilogy , and it might ’ve been dreadful , but it would ’ve still been George Lucas ' own story .
