Talking to Adam made me so happy because he , in particular , really realize the variety of gum anime , manga , mech sensibility that I was trying to bring to Kong . He gets that and that was something that I fought so hard for and was so hard to sort of pull in to life through construct to execution with ILM [ Industrial Light and Magic . ] That ’s one of the things I ’m most lofty of with him . I think he truly gets that and he sincerely need to lean into this version of Kong that kind of was borne from my crazy and stupefied TV game brain .
Vogt - Roberts also enunciate that Kong is a " batter and scarred " character with a " loath protagonist vibe .
