Jeremy Renner may not be Hawkeye for much longer , with a new rumor state that he will become Ronin inUntitled Avengers(aka . retaliator 4 ) . While most the great unwashed have yet to see any footage fromAvengers : Infinity War , Marvel Studios isalready working on the sequelthat will off theaters just one class afterInfinity Warlaunches . Basically every undivided major Marvel Cinematic Universe character is set to look in either or both of the next twoAvengersfilms , and that includes Renner ’s return as Clint Barton .
Hawkeye has arguably yet to be give his due in any of his four appearances so far , withAvengers : Age of Ultrondoing the most for his character by enter his secret household . Even though he retire for them , he went back into action , got arrested , and then free from the Raft inCaptain America : Civil War . And now he will reportedly take on a new name forAvengers 4 .

Well , according to this rumor , it will be due to some tragical events that bump in his sprightliness duringInfinity War . Taking on the mantle of Ronin is something Hawkeye has done before in the comics . On the page , he traded in his obeisance and arrows for katanas to become Ronin ( the condition for a professional samurai ) follow the issue ofCivil War , so this could be another slip of Marvel taking aspiration from the comics but adding more to it . It has already been confirmed thatAvengers 4willpartially take place in Japan , piss the shift to Ronin that much more plausible . Plus , Renner ’s young haircut for the filmmay have also teased this upcoming change .
As for what could set Hawkeye down this dark path , there are only a few options base on what we ’ve see from him so far . Many thought the inclusion of his family inAge of Ultronmeant he would die in that film , but with them still around and recently adding to the class , losing them would be one way to make the turn to Ronin credible . If Barton is n’t losing his family , then it could have something to do with Black Widow ( Scarlett Johansson ) or Scarlet Witch ( Elizabeth Olsen ) . SinceBlack Widow has already been linked to Yakuza scenesin the Japan congeal , she should be safe ; and it would be very surprising if Scarlet Witch decease inInfinity War . So , if this story is indeed dead on target , it may write doomsday for the Barton mob , or the Russo brothers have retrieve up something even more shocking .
