Not unlike its eponymous goofball , the adaptation of Stephen King’sItis tight near , and in preparation of its September 8th premiere , some behind - the - shot footage has been released to whet the collective appetite of horror buff everywhere .
Director Andy Muschietti ( who tackled supernatural repugnance in 2013’sMama ) is taking a singular approach to King ’s adaptation . Instead of skip over back and away between the nestling and grownup story from the original novel , he is split the story up into two voice . Part 1 will dole out with the young group of Derry natives who dub themselves " the Losers ' Club , " while Part 2 ( for which there have been no concrete production details turn ) will stick to the same mathematical group of kid 27 years later .
The footage start out at the home of Henry Bowers , the Losers ' sadistic roughneck played by Nicholas Hamilton . It then cuts through the various goings - on of Derry locals , most notably those of the moving-picture show ’s kid sub . There is a remote guessing of the local movie theatre of operations , acknowledgment of the ill-famed Black Spot and Kitchener Ironworks , and of course of study , a disconsolate visit to the Derry toilet .
The B - curl also overtake the actors and filmmakers hanging out behind the vista during some free-and-easy downtime . And the takeout is : child will be kidskin . There seems to be some solid alchemy between these young actors , which ought to come as a relief . The success of production likeStranger Things , Super 8 , and evenThe Goonies , where kids make up the key roll , takes a significant gamble on not only hoping the actors can sell their role to an audience , but create a solid rapport among their fellow castmates .
That said , what stands out most of all is the footage of " It " itself ( a.k.a . Pennywise the Dancing Clown , a.k.a . Bob Gray ) . In one shot , he is likely attacking ( or even consume ) one of his victims , while another flake of footage has him wandering around casually between return . And it ’s worth cite that whether he ’s in persona or not , Costume Designer Janie Bryant did the character justice in make Pennywise the Clown look fitly chilling as pit .

The extended footage also reveals raw dialogue from Pennywise , answering perhaps the most pivotal question that fans of the original made - for - TV miniseries starring Tim Curry have been mulling over : how will Bill Skarsgård ’s rendition of the character differ from Curry ’s ? As it turns out , the difference is more than a little obtrusive , with Skarsgård aiming for what seems to be a more buoyant , childish approaching , compared to Curry ’s commanding , sort of smoky New Englander take .
