A new report byVarietyreveals that Skarsgård recently appear on their " Playback " podcast and discussed the troubling scene that was ultimately slue from the film as well as his hope for Chapter 2 . Here is what he said :
" There was a view we fool away that was a flashback from the 1600s , before Pennywise [ was Pennywise ] . The scene turned out really , really disturbing . And I ’m not the goofball . I look more like myself . It ’s very disturbing , and sort of a backstory for what It is , or where Pennywise come from . That might be something worth search in the 2nd one . The musical theme is the ' It ' entity was torpid for chiliad and thousands of years . The [ flashback ] scene hint on that . "
While Skarsgård did n’t go into full detail about the disturbing scene , we are hoping that it will make an appearance inMuschietti ’s manager cut , which will be put out with the dwelling house edition at the close of the year . Muschietti has already teased a bar mitzvah fit where Stanley Uris blames all the adults in Derry for the town ’s dour past , and a funny extended version of the prey scene where the expectoration contest takes station . So , it would n’t be surprising if we get to see Pennywise ’s flashback in the prolonged version of the film adding more deepness to the mysterious quality .
If the flashback does n’t make it on the director ’s cut , there ’s also a chance that we will learn more about the ' It ' entity and its ancient history in Chapter 2 . Along with discussing the deletion scene , Skarsgård also talked about how he ’s hop that the second film will cut into more into the " metaphysical " aspect of It and the abstract estimate that are present in King ’s novel that have yet to be search on concealment . Here is what he say :
" The book is very abstractionist and metaphysical about what it mean to subsist and the idea of fantasy and imagination and all of these thing . I recall that could be nerveless to explore as well . It ’s like , what is Pennywise ? He only exists in the mental imagery of tike . If you do n’t believe him to be substantial then he might not be existent . There ’s an interesting aspect to explore there . “
