A Nightmare on Elm Street
Veteran repugnance histrion Robert Englund has said that he wants Kevin Bacon to play Freddy Krueger in the nextNightmare on Elm Streetreboot . While there are still some fans who go on to wish that Englund himself would get back under the Freddy make - up one more clock time , the now 70 - year - old revulsion icon has made it unclouded that he ’s done represent the character . While the remake performed well financially , earning $ 115 million on a $ 35 million budget , New Line clearly did n’t see potential in continuing its story .
While Englund has never had anything regretful to say about Haley ’s rendition of Freddy , he ’s never been shy about vocalise his dislike of the remake , and hopes that theElm Streetfranchise could take a hop . To that end , during a recent interview withCinema Blend , Englund let it be known that he would very much wish to see Kevin Bacon play Freddy if and when the serial publication is once again rebooted . " Well the gossip I ’ve hear , and I do n’t know how valid this is , but there has been some talk about using , or perhaps he ’s been approached , Kevin Bacon . Yeah . I suppose that would be neat . He ’s in one of my favourite little horror movies , Stir of Echoes , and you should check it out if you have n’t see in . And I just think Kevin ’s the veracious size . I think he respects repugnance motion picture . He does n’t make sport of them . I think it would be rattling interesting . "
As Englund denote to above , rumors of Bacon possibly play Freddy have been move around the net for awhile now , although it ’s undecipherable at this point where and when they first began . For his part , Bacon has expressed support for the mind publicly when the subject has been broached .
