Star Wars: Battlefront 2 (2005)
EA just dropped a new trailer forStar Wars Battlefront IIfull of fresh entropy about grapheme and location we ’ll see in the individual player drive . So far , EA has n’t disclose much about the individual player , but this newfangled trailer sheds light on the story .
You may remember that the first EA developedBattlefrontdidn’t sport a campaign mode at all , much to thechagrin of new trilogy whizz John Boyega . Battlefront II ’s new single instrumentalist style watch the player take control of Iden Versio , leader of one of the Empire ’s most elite special forces units – Inferno Squad . The tale is specify briefly afterReturn of the Jedi , after the second Death Star is destroyed and both Emperor Palpatine and Darth Vader are deadened .
The trailer starts with new footage , showing Versio handcuffed and locked in a cell . Her droid , an ID9 seeker , somehow handle to snarf in and free her . Versio sarcastically salutes her rebel pursuer as she climb up out of an airlock and into blank space . Most of what we see next are bits and pieces we ’ve already witness in other trailers , like Inferno Squad watch as the 2d Death Star is destroy , and Iden ’s beginner , Admiral Garrick Versio , informing her that the Emperor is dead . After that , affair get more interesting .
We see a brief snip of gameplay feature Iden flying a TIE Fighter , before a monumental blank space battle in which the Rebellion seem to be losing quite severely . Then the big reveals total . First up we see Takodana and Maz Kanata ’s wonderfully colored legal profession / castle , follow soon after by the reveal of both Maz herself , and Princess Leia .
And that ’s pretty much the close of the trailer . The reveal of both Maz and Leia was clearly intended to be the big climatic minute of the footage , and it certainly was . We now have even more questions about the individual player than before . Did Carrie Fisher allow for lines for Leia before she tragicallypassed aside last December ? How grownup a role will Leia , Maz , and the previously revealed Luke Skywalker have in the secret plan ?
Perhaps the most important question , however , is why have n’t we visualise any gameplay from the single player ? Of all the lagger for the drive mode so far , we ’ve only got abbreviated glimpses of first person footage , but no real gameplay . EA intelligibly values the multiplayer mode over the single player with how much they ’ve pushed that with multiple trailers ( include onefeaturing Boyega ) and an prolonged public beta . But why are they conceal the single role player ? Fans need to see how the squad mechanism work , and especially how Iden ’s ID9 droid will come into period of play .
