Star Wars: Episode VIII - The Last Jedi

Luke Skywalker put on a dark robe instead of his common light neutral one in a new powder magazine cover promotingStar Wars : Episode VIII - The Last Jedi . Star Warsfans have now had their darling franchise back in the business of stool films since   2015’sStar Wars : Episode VII - The Force Awakens , but they ’ve yet to see   Mark Hamill back full - fourth dimension   in his iconic role in the storied space opera house saga . Save for a final dig that showed him   wordlessly stare at newbie Rey ( Daisy Ridley ) as she hands him his father ’s original lightsaber , Luke was offscreen and cite by others only for   the duration   ofThe Force Awakens ' runtime .

This , of course , will change withThe Last Jedi . Rian Johnson ’s moving picture will focus heavily on   Luke , his lifespan ’s   journey and discovery since we last saw him inEpisode VI - Return of the Jedi ,   revealing more about exactly what   drive him to survive in   ego - imposed exile on the   Planet Ach - To . lover were baffled when Luke   declare that the Jedi must end in thefirst poke forThe Last Jedi ,   further perpetuating theory about Luke having gone to the dark side . This new magazine cover   does n’t necessarily   dispel that theory , either .

Hamill as Luke is featured on the cover of the   Hungarian magazine Mozimánia , which has now made its agency on-line thanks toTwitter(see below ) . In the image , the Jedi Master rollick an all - disastrous ensemble consist of a gown and a cape , while he himself   is bathe in red light . The aesthetical brings to mind Dark Force users like Luke ’s own father Darth Vader and Luke ’s nephew / former   padawan , Kylo Ren ( Adam Driver ) . It is definitely weird see Luke   dressed in something other than the   Jedi ’s touch neutral - tone robes .

It is important to note that this is not the first meter Luke has donned opprobrious attire . He wore a dim matching set inEpisode VI - Return of the Jedi , only to formally turn down the   Dark Side of the Force by the end of the pic . Whether something similar happens inThe Last Jediremains to be seen , of course . Hamill , himself , has admitted   that he had a toilsome fourth dimension come to terms with the character trajectory that Johnson has given Luke -   but in the remnant ,   he conceded to the report , which makes us conceive that he is going through some thing entirely new to theStar Warsmythos .

At this pointedness , Luke walk away from everything that he has gone through only to eventually fall to the Dark Side seems anticlimactic . It undermines all his early sacrifice to ensure that he stay on the lawful path for a Jedi . If anything , all the talk regarding the residual in the force in conjunction with the concept of thegray Jedi ,   seems to be more feasible at this point .
