Arrow
Superheroes are gravid and all , but there ’s something really nurse about a villain . Whether it be the melodrama of Doctor Doom or the cackling madness of the Joker , a great scoundrel is often more memorable than the heroes they battle . What wouldBatmanbe without the Joker ? What wouldThorbe without Loki ? You either know them or love to detest them , and a good villain can promote even the smashing paladin to fresh summit .
The CW’sArrowversehas no shortage of awesome sub , but its monster of the week format means that a circumstances of the villains sense a little lacking . More often than not , they are little more than generic bad bozo for Team Arrow or Team Flash to dispose of before moving onto the next plot - concentrate episode .
Of naturally , that does n’t mean that all of the scoundrel are bad . Throughout the course of the various shows ' histories , the teams have total across plethora of cunning and interesting enemies .
From the foxiness to the terrifying and the truly ridiculous , here areThe 15 well Arrowverse Villains , Ranked .
As always , we ’ll try and keep the pillager to a minimum for the more recent season , but earlier ones are fair secret plan so read at your own discretion .
Zoom
The fully grown problem with Zoom is an issue that chivvy a lot of Barry ’s big - badness . Speedster on speedster scrap simply are n’t that interesting to learn . It ’s a bunch of blurring and peculiar effects , but the fights themselves are n’t that interesting .
Beyond that , Zoom is a pretty weak villain . He had a lot of human body - up , and Thawn ’s reaction to his helmet really sold us on the menace he represented , but , in the end , he was just a speed lamia .
His family relationship with Catlin Snow was well - done and made his betrayal more painful , but his overall motivations were still extremely tedious and bland . He just want to kill other speedsters and become faster . There was no real motivating gene beyond him just being evil .
Dominators
The Arrowverse crossover events are a bit of a mixed bag . It ’s always interesting seeing teamFlashand team Arrow work together . The gauze-like chemistry between the two teams make for a good clock time , allowing the two to play off of each other .
The trouble lie in the fact that these outcome always seem to interrupt the period of their parent shows , and the villain are a spot lustreless . The Dominators are no exclusion to this .
The invasion of an foreign mintage is a classic comic book trope and some of comics ’ best storylines– such as Marvel ’s Secret Invasion– have been built around this idea , but this one merely fly flavourless .
The Dominators looked really awesome and it was a fun crosswalk to watch , but , overall , they just were n’t very interesting and did n’t have much to offer up .
Savitar
The so - call “ god of speed ” started off rather lackluster as far as baddie go . We had just finish up up one time of year with yet another vicious speedster boastfully - bad and a lot of fans we ’re hoping for something a bit dissimilar . Savitar was , at first glance , a bit of a letdown . Not only was he yet another speedster , but he was also a CGI part who appeared to have short in the means of personality or ties to the team .
Of naturally , that all changed later on on in the season when Savitar ’s true identity was revealed . This reveal– which we wo n’t fumble incase you ’re behind– managed to advance Savitar above the likes Zoom by hand him a personal connection to our heroes and added some much - require context to his actions .
Vandal Savage
Vandal Savage is one of the more disappointing baddie of the Arrowverse . This is especially due to the fact that , in the cartoon strip , a set of interesting traditional knowledge skirt his eccentric and he as been a part of some amazing tarradiddle arcs .
The staple of Savage ’s story are the same across both mediums . He ’s an immortal despot who dreams of humanity supremacy , but he ’s so much more effective in the comics .
At one point , while wielding the Spear of Destiny , he managed to defeat the Specter , who is basically the embodiment of God ’s ira . However , his TV show origin also did him no favors by tying him to Hawkman and Hawkgirl .
In the show , he ’s just a creepy raper who ca n’t take " no " for an resolution , whereas , in the comics , he comes across as a secret soma who may or may not be the Biblical Cain .
Non
Supergirlis a testament to how much a TV show can better over the line of a season . The show ’s first season was , understandably , disliked by most lover for numerous reasons , such as the clichéd writing and odd romantic - clowning persona give to Kara , but , beyond all of that , one of the show ’s with child weaknesses was its villain .
Non was , to put it bluntly , a waste of screentime . He was a snivel imperfect - willed Sir Noel Pierce Coward amd little more than his wife ’s partner in crime . He had no agency or motivations of his own exterior of this , and his plans made little sense in the grand outline of thing . Supergirlhas came a long mode since its first season and poor villains like Non are a big reason why the show initially fail .
Damien Darhk
Magic is amazing and the great unwashed who practice deception are generally amazingly powerful . For representative , bothHermione GrangerandDoctor Strangeare bully characters with a lot of capacity . Damien Darh , however , is not so great , which is a shame since he had a quite a little of potential difference .
After going up against mostly street - level scourge , time of year 3 ofArrowgave us Ra ’s Al Ghul and infix magic to Ollie ’s life . The idea of team Arrow run low up against a legitimate sorcerer had all the caparison of a Greco-Roman engineering vs. magic storyline . However , this exciting glint at once fizzled out since , as it turn out , Dhark just was n’t that interesting of a villain .
He had some great moments , such as when he caught Green Arrow ’s arrows mid - flight , but , beyond that , he fell flat and did n’t remain firm up to the show ’s other major villain . That being said , John Constantine ’s cameo was great and we postulate more of him .
The Legion of Doom
produce up , a mass of kids watched a lot of the onetime ' 70sSuperfriendsshow , as Cartoon connection often ran a luck of re - runs . When you remember about it objectively , the show was fairly awful . It was camp , had weird imperfect storyline , ruinedAquamanfor a generation , and was borderline racist with its depiction of Apache Chief , but the Legion of Doom was an awesome concept .
The idea of an evilJustice Leaguemade up of the League ’s greatest foes is sodding Au , and we ’re glad to see thatLegends of Tomorrowtook that awesome concept , adjusted it a bit , and made it their own . sure as shooting , it ’s not the classic Legion , but it ’s still awesome to see so many Arrowverse villain working together , specially since it gave us the return of Eobard Thawn .
Lillian Luthor
Supergirlis a very dissimilar show from what the Arrowverse offers . to begin with airing on a different mesh , the serial has a different feel and is in all likelihood the most controversial of the Arrowverse evince . It definitely has its devotee and has improved a lot since its rocky first season , but the villains have , for the most part , remained fairly lackluster . However , Lillian Luthor is the rare exclusion .
In a flock of ways , she is like to her son , Lex , at least in terms of personality and philosophy , which is a forcefulness rather than a weakness . surely , she can come across as just a clone of Lex Luthor , but , on the other hired hand , she also sheds some light on how the more illustrious Luthor came to be .
Now that we live his female parent ’s mentality and personality , it give us some brainwave on the man who would go on to becomeSuperman ’s greatest foe . away from that , Lillian is different enough from her boy to stand out on her own .
Ra’s Al Ghul
Were this a lean of “ best DC villains , ” the Demon ’s Head would rank much , but Ra ’s ’ Arrowverse incarnation is lacking some of his comic book counterpart ’s personal magnetism . In the strip , the near - immortal Ra ’s is one of Batman ’s greatest foes , and is arguably much more Bruce ’s adequate than the Joker .
The Arrowverse version of Ra ’s is n’t quite as impressive , but he ’s still a force play to be reckoned with . From the first time you learn his name , you get the good sense that Green Arrow does not wish to face this man or the organization that he leads .
to boot , Arrow ’s sword fight with him rest one of the show ’s best fight scene . This is n’t the Ra ’s of DC legend , but he ’s still a worthy foeman for the Arrow .
Gorilla Grodd
Gorilla Grodd is one of the strangest entries on this tilt , which factors into why he ranks so mellow . He ’s a talking gorilla with telepathic thinker control powers . It ’s an incredibly silly premise , but that ’s what make up theFlashsuch a great television show . A heap of Marvel ’s Netflix render seem ashamed to let in that they ’re based off of amusing books , but theFlashwholly embraces this and it ’s howling .
Grodd is n’t a compelling villain on his own , however . In fact , he rarely aver anything and lacks agency and any form of motivation , but , in this case , that does n’t matter as much , since he represents the right-down awing insanity of laughable book , and the fact that theFlashwas willing to embrace this , makes Grodd a great villain on his own .
