AlthoughThe Hostis unusual, unpredictable and at times funny, it’s undercut by a running time that is way too long.

The Hostis a South Korean revulsion - comedy cinema with a serious side to kicking . It was made in 2006 and is being turn in the U.S. on March 9th , 2007 .

I ’ll start off by saying that this picture wo n’t be for everyone . As a subject of fact I think that some people will really love it while others will wonder what all the fuss is about . If you ’re a fan of Asiatic horror and devil film this one will be right up your alleyway . On the other hand if you ’re not a sports fan of the genre you ’ll be alternately entertained , bore and entertained throughout the film .

The film then cuts to a couple of fisherman wade waist - deep in the river who come across a small and apparently gross - looking ( we never see it ) creature that they mull is some sort of variation . turn off to four year later where we meet the main characters of the floor . We have a grandfather who runs a food stand and his blonde son Gang - du , who by all appearances is a prototypical slacker . It call on out that Gang - du has a daughter ( perhaps 12 years onetime ) bring up Hyun - seo . She ’s disappointed that her dad did not show up for Parent ’s Day at the shoal , with her inebriated uncle showing up or else .

How Rachel Zegler’s

I did n’t really get it on what to make of Gang - du … I was shoot between thinking he was just a doofus and that he might be geniunely check . He sleeps in the middle of the day , eat food off of the client ' plates before serve them and offers a beer to his daughter . He comes across as almost child - like throughout the movie and to be fair I retrieve him a bit unsettling .

His Father-God ( the granddaddy who have the nutrient stand ) place him out with a novel plate of food for a client when we see everyone being drawn to something hanging off a bridge in the aloofness , which then drops into the river and comes close to shore while still underwater . At first the folks are intrigued , postulate wild guesses at what it might be , when it lunges onto shore and havoc ensues . The creature is moderately cool wait , although very plain CGI . Although someone in a scene is fall apart earpiece instead of an Ipod headset , the dangers of being oblivious to your surround become apparent . :-)

An American guy and Gang - du decide to help some hoi polloi trapped in a large preview , and even try attacking the puppet . This was another jarring aspect of Gang - du , who up until now could barely run without tripping over his feet and here takes on the altruistic role of hero . Eventually he goes back for his daughter and thing do not go well .

Supposedly the American immature man who faced the animal has do down with some form of deadly computer virus , which the government activity pronounce infects anyone who has come into contact with the creature , or anyone those people have been in contact with . At a memorial for the victims , governance type in hazmat suits show up to crowd everyone to a secure hospital location . This is where we come across the aunt and uncle of the girl , each with their own subject . This is also where there ’s a scene with an very odd combination of sorrow and wittiness .

small spoiler alert ……….

The girl , Hyun - seo is not idle but only captured . The relaxation of the cinema revolves around the crime syndicate prove to escape and stave off the authorities in edict to find and keep open her . Because her forefather has what seem to be genial problems , no one take him seriously and they have to go off on their own . In the hunting is where we get much of the aroused play of the film , and despite Gang - du being a few cards shy of a full deck of cards , we see the depth of love life he has for his girl and how nothing will stop him from incur her . Despite the issues his brother and sis have with him , they put those things aside to centralise on see Hyun - seo .

Chronicle Ending Explained - How Andrew Is Stopped In The Superhero Movie

The Hoststarts off like an almost goofy riff on Godzilla movies , and gets less humourous as it movies along . There are subtexts touch on the government , and the American government in particular which seemed kind of wierd to me and may even have been take a shot at our liaison in the warfare in Iraq . Kind of a " we screwed up but we ca n’t own up to that so we have to keep pretend the original situation is valid " thing .

In any case I find it to be excessively long and chance my head wandering a bit . Now that ’s not to say it was n’t good , because overall I think that it was by virtue of the characters ' depth in the motion-picture show , their relationships to each other and the performance . I also like the fact that it really was n’t predictable like so many U.S.-made monster movies . I just happen the " government is malevolent " plot middling scattered and a mess of the scenes far too long .

So , if you ’re a buff of Asian cinema I think you ’ll enjoy it , but if you ’re a distinctive viewer with U.S. picture show - induced ADD who does n’t like subtitle , you may not enjoy it so much .
