The clip was originally supposed to be included inThe Lion King ’s Walt Disney Signature Collection release afterwards this month but had ended up being cut . The decision to rewrite the story must have been made very ahead of time on because Broderick say that he never knew that was the original story . Besides the obvious revelation , what ’s interesting is that Schumacher says they cast Broderick to essentially play another adaptation of his classic Ferris Bueller use , not as the heroic character Simba terminate up becoming . If Schumacher and Disney had adjudicate to rewrite the tale prior to roam Broderick , it stands to rationality that the actor possibly would n’t have land the now - iconic role .
