WARNING : This clause contains spoilers forJustice League#1

Justice League#1has unveiled an all - new Legion of Doom , led by none another than Lex Luthor . The newJustice Leagueseries from writer Scott Snyder , with art from   Mark Morales and Jim Cheung , is set the DCEU in a exciting new direction . Justice Leagueis spinning out directly from the pages of theNo Justiceminiseries , as well asthe absolutely bonkers eventDC Metal . The novel on-going series picks up on a stack of threads from those two bad lurid stories , include the revelation that the entire DC multiverse only has a year before it totally pass .

Yet the large surprise of the novel serial involves Lex Luthor . Even though DC Comics have gone through bother to pay off Lex and turn him into a hero , the megalomaniac man of affairs has seemingly turned back to his nefarious ways inJustice League # 1 . Lex has reformed the Legion of Doom with assist from The Joker . However Lex ’s destination might be more altruistic than they seem , despite the fact that Joker is the Legion of Doom leader ’s right - hand - man .

The majority ofJustice League # 1is fructify up for the narrative ( or stories ) to come . Yet Lex and his gang negociate to be quite dynamic and challenging . Lex and his Legion make their debut by kill one of the DC Universe ’s oldest characters : the immortal Vandal Savage .

Justice League :   No Justiceendedwith Lex breaking forth from the principal Justice League , apparently root on byBrainiac ’s plan to gather together unconvincing alliesin order to salvage the world - and that ’s exactly what he appear to he ’s doing with the Legion of Doom . While asserting that he ’s still a hero , Lex and the Legion break up and/or kill Vandal Savage and his " Injustice Gang . " Vandal has gather together this group ( of fourth dimension displaced cavemen ) to save the Earth from its inevitable destruction . Lex Luthor , being Lex Luthor , believes he can do a much better caper .

Justice League # 1keeps the full scene of Lex ’s plan a enigma . But it ’s obvious that , despite his rather monstrous methods , Lex believes he is doing the proper thing ( the only fashion it in reality make sense for DC to turn back on their heroic Lex ) . Granted , there ’s still no good reason for why Lex is trust the Joker , of all characters , because Batman ’s archnemesis is the very definition of unreliable . Yet with all the other members of the Legion of Doom , there does seem to be a method to Lex ’s ( guess ) madness . This group could save the world if reigned in correctly .

Invincible comic

The most interesting thing about the line - up , for DCEU fan anyway , is how muchthis newfangled Legion of Doom would work in the DCEU . Theafter credits scenes ofJustice Leaguehad Jesse Eisenberg ’s Lex Luthor verbalize to Joe Manganiello ’s Deathstroke about forming " a conference of their own . " Slade Wilson is n’t about of Lex ’s Legion ( at least not yet ) but everyone else would be a somewhat easy fit into the DCEU . The Joker is already a part of the DCEU . Black Manta and Cheetah are coming inAquamanandWonder Woman 2 , respectively .   The only two hold - outs , who do n’t yet subsist in the DCEU but are almost certain to appear finally , are Gorilla Grodd and Sinestro .

buff will probably see the comical variant of the Legion of Doom complete whatever their planning , in bankruptcy or success , long before the DCEU ’s Legion materializes . Yet the parallels certainly are interesting , if not telling , when come up to the future of DC ’s cinematic existence .

Justice League # 1is uncommitted now fromDC Comics .
