Supreme Leader Snoke narratesthroughout the newStar state of war : The Last Jeditrailer . Snoke ’s voice is the first voice that the viewer take heed as he rasp : " When I found you , I see sore , untapped mogul . And beyond that , something in truth special . " As Snoke speaks , the opening images show Kylo Ren standing alone looking at a First Order fleet , First Order walkers , an aery shot of First Order troops , and Kylo Ren with his mask and lightsaber . Because of this imagination , it seems as if Snoke is speaking to Kylo Ren .
Additionally , The Force Awakensestablishes that Kylo Ren find ( or was found by ) Snoke , and that Snoke seduce Kylo Ren to the benighted side of the Force . It would be a logical conclusion to think that Snoke is talking directly to Kylo Ren in this import .
However , as the trailer unfolds , who Snoke is blab to becomes more and more unreadable - in fact , it is as potential that he ’s babble to the newly " line up " Rey .
First , the use of the word " raw " is used twice , which within the short span of the laggard is enough to emphasize its importance . Snoke says that he witness " naked untapped power"in the person that he is speak to . Luke Skywalker tell Rey that he has watch " this raw strength " that she has before - he ’s intelligibly referring to Kylo Ren . In the next-to-last scene of the trailer , Snoke ’s human face is shown , with his hired man outstretched as he says , " carry through your lot . In the background , a figure stands in mustard greens yellow robes - the same scandalmongering shade as Snoke ’s yellowed costume . This begs the question : is Snoke ’s possibility lines of the trailer spoken to Rey and not Kylo Ren ?
In the final moments of the trailer , Rey say , " I ask someone to show me my place in all this . " Then , Kylo Ren is shown , wordlessly offering an outstretched hand . Kylo ’s seeming invitation to Rey may or may not be at the request of Snoke , and it ’s conceivable that Snoke ’s tale could be him speak to one or both of them . But this ambiguity is made possible by the fact that Rey and Kylo Ren ( and their fates ) seem interlinked : Rey has the potential to fall like Kylo Ren did , or she could have the potency to save him .
However , the motion picture will almost certainly break up the house trailer ’s equivocalness . Is it possible to have two characters that are both " truly special ? " Given the case inThe Force Awakens , it seems more likely that Rey is " truly special " in a way of life that Kylo Ren is n’t … which could create a tension that will drive him further to the morose side .
For now , fans are n’t sure of Rey ’s place inStar Warseither , and we ’ll have to wait and see whenThe Last Jedipremieres in December .
