His face also more closely resembles that of Josh Brolin , the doer who gave voice to the CGI character . Some Marvel fans preferred the first look and many began to complain about the changes , But Marvel insists it knew what it was doing when it changed Thanos ' invention .

Matt Aitken , VFX executive program onInfinity Warfor Weta , spoke about these change in an exclusive interview with Screen Rant :
" Those sequences inGuardiansis where we see him most clearly in the previous MCU films . It was a wonderful exemption to not have to match that precisely . I think it ’s one matter to have a Thanos who in those picture was in spades more stylized , hole out up for those short beat that he was in those films . But when he had to be the lead graphic symbol and maintain film and appear in century and hundreds of shots , it was great to have the latitude to elaborate his look , to make his facial visual aspect more natural , so he ’s unquestionably more elaborated and has a more natural shape to his face , to his lips , to his eyebrow , his nozzle , and all those details we ’re talking about in terminus of the blemishes and the pores and the stubble . If we ’d been confine to those early iterations , it would have been too much of a limitation , I think , so that was never an upshot . Right from the start , Marvel recognized the need to go to the next version of Thanos , and we were never expect to agree that early rendering at all . "
Aitken did point out that it was necessary to keep the character placeable , which is why theInfinity Warversion of Thanos still has that " wacky mentum " and purplish skin .
EvenNetflix had something to say about Thanos ' newfangled pattern , giving phonation to fans who thought the CGI inInfinity Wardid not do the character justice .
